Two Seasons of this hit show and now they are setting trends in clubs across the nation and I am sure world. Turning on men and women with their racy photoshoots, juicy on show drama and now in the beauty world. Not only is their voices tantalizing but so is the new hot colors debuting from OPI and Sephora's nail color collection! Fresh off the press from Celebrity-Gossip is the must see "Glee" Nail Collection from Sephora by OPI. The site says that it will be in Sephora stores by February and her is what Vice President of FOX had to say...

FOX VP Robert Marick told press, “We’ve been very careful and strategic with the ‘Glee’ brand. This is a long-term brand for us, and it’s not just about getting products on the shelf.”
He continued, “It’s about making sure whatever we do complements the show. Sephora is very committed to what is hot now, and that is a key attribute of the show. They are also supporting this with a multi-platform marketing effort.”

I love when OPI put's out new nail colors and I know that I am going to definitely be looking for them in my salon but will you buy the marketing? Hey guys, I know you know Carhartt and are scratching your heads asking yourself why is she going to start on this? I work outside and in harsh conditions sometimes and for a living, I need it for warmth and safety...Or better yet, the more urban feel to wearing the brand sagging and two times too big for your size 32" waist...No, I am not making fun of anyone but letting you know that the brand is going to be revitalized and co-branded. Thanks to designer Adam Kimmel's new partnership with the brand. That's right, I said "Carhartt is going to be POLISHED" Coming in May to Barney's will be a collection of new workwear for men as I like to call it, but as wwd.com say's, "The launch collection encompasses 29 pieces, including outerwear, jeans, plaid flannel shirts and pants in moleskin or cotton twill. Accessories in the line include a duffel and tote bag as well as cotton cashmere beanies. Retail prices will range from $70 to $600." Bet some of you never thought of paying those prices! From JC Penny to your Workroom now off to Barneys! I can't wait to see some of the pieces!

Fashion Goes 3D?? Well scantly clad hotties from Sports Illustrated Swimsuit well anticipated 2011 issue is coming! I am aware that all women would love to have thier to die for bodies and not only did a magazine go hi-tech but more like reach out there and just touch somebody feeling! I personally think its cool and can't wait to check it out. I am also going to work out a little bit harder in the meantime so I can have that extra piece of chocolate cake and not feel bad about it!

M.A.C. Jeanius!

I have always had a passion for denim, as those of you may remember my denim driven boutique that I owned Pittsburgh a few years ago. So when I saw the new M.A.C. Spring 2011 Collection dedicated to the staple, I knew I had to spread the word! In addition to the fun shades that are offered, it is way more economical to get your denim fix on the makeup, rather than splurge for the real thing. (Especially with the 30% increase in cotton, which will drastically impact the price of a new pair of jeans that we are all about to encounter!) Although make-up is not part of my daily routine, I do like to wear it for a special event or an evening out. I can't think of a more appropriate go-to shadow collection, than the M.A.C. Jeanius; it is so cute! I absolutely love the denim looking coin pocket with a rivit and stitching; it's so realistic with the embossing design. I could definitely see a denim company making a collection out of these great shades...at least M.A.C. inspired them. It's fashion, it's beauty, and it's from M.A.C. Coming in March to a make-up counter near you!

2011 Winter Classic was a hit in Pittsburgh. I have to say that marketing companies thought of it all. From fashion to food to random "novelties" to advertise the Winter Classic was done very well. Not to mention the great commercials with Sid and Ovechkin. I saw a bunch of great fashions that are very wearable and most of them were the warm weather items. Let's review some fashion.

Pen's Head Coach Dan Bylsma-
Keeping it classic and chic in his retro Jacket with the amazing Feather Fedora. Nice job Dan!

Jackets-
The NHL Licensed Convertible Grey Down Vest/Jackets on the announcers Darren Pang, Ed Olczyk and Mike Emrick were pretty sweet. As well as the old school throw back jackets such as Dan's above.

Shirts-
Plus the Pen's Uniformed Jerseys were pretty cool with the laced up neck and great cobolt blue coloring. This Spring 2011 seasons must have color!

Hat's-
I absolutely adore the pom-pom hats and matching scarves.

As Seen On TV and YouTube Fashion of 2010

The New Years has rung and the parties are over. In 2010 there were some really funny and interesting creations in fashion and I must discuss the As Seen On TV products...And ask myself, "Why didn't I think of this?"

This one kills me. Jeggings have took over the jean in 2010 and with rising commodity prices in cotton in 2011, denim is taking a hiatus in some fashion houses and major brands for some more lower priced looks in the jegging market. However, this product I find is hysterical. Pajama Jeans...And let's not forget to mention the free crew neck T Shirt! OK really? Just so we all know that if we walk into our local TJ Maxx or Rainbow you can buy jeggings with painted on pockets by the way for under $10 bucks...But I am an entrepreneur and I get it. Someone is buying and I would like to know if its you. If so, please send us a pic and let us know why you bought them. I just may send you a gift card!

Next up on the list is the disguise your cleavage with the Cami Lace. Not too bad of an invention for under $10 bucks for 2. Hence, if your going to buy and wear a low cut V neck top, don't you want to show off your ta-tas? I mean if you know any better, you won't wear a deep V top to the office, you wouldn't wear one to your mother-in-laws home and you for sure wouldn't wear one to a business meeting! Unless you were trying to score in a room of lustful colleagues.

I wish I could relate to this next one. But in this case size does matter and it would never work for me. But if your in the C-Cup and under category then this may be for you! The Backless Strapless Bra with side stick wings and molded underwire cups to "boost your cleavage" enhancement. It says it wears for 40 wears, but thats if you don't use lotion to ruin the adhesive I wouldn't spend $30 on one but for two I would give it a shot. Check them out...

Tis the season for comfortable sweaters...One thing I love about winter is all the comfy, soft and cozy sweaters are available to wear. Even on a bad day you still feel good and look good. Superior Cashmere, Soft Wool, Boucle, Cotton Blends are all on my list. What makes sweaters cool is some of the designs. The one above is by Jonano also known as the Jennifer Anniston Sweater. I came across this new Nail Polish by CND beauty while in St. Louis reading a magazine at my nail salon and had to see what all the fascination was about with this new Hybrid Nail Polish?? What? So I did a little research about it and also asked my technician and she suggested that it guarantees a 14 day-NO CHIP wear and your in and out after the top coat! Hmm...OK, I head into the salon about every two weeks for a regular mani/pedi which takes anywhere from an hour or two pending my service-so why this new way to polish?

Well it's smoother and wears like Gel.

Baby it’s Cold outside! Brrr…When it’s cold outside and the weather is nippy what is a mans favorite item to wear to keep them warm? Well I asked many guy friends and the unanimous response was a great vest and scarf! A great warm vest that is warm and wind resistant. Of course the added scarf keeps the neck and ears warm!

I have selected 3 styles for you guys to consider:

The Down Vest-

Light and Casual. What to look for in a down Vest is the fill. What is the material inside the vest made from? A good Down Vest will be filled with feathers from Goose which is the best. This item is packable and so versatile to wear.

Jennifer Noah also known for her Opening Fashion Show of Pittsburgh Fashion Week this 2010 has yet another stellar coordinated event along side her new position at Diana Rua Media as VP!! Congrats girl! Your doing great. Maybe we will see you in Paris or Milan soon.

Ms. Noah has a great execution as to how produce a fashion show and with her background in dance you can almost guarantee she brings out the best in everything. From beginning to end of her shows, you get entertainment, fashion and amazement. Last Friday November 26th the fashion show Beautiful *Dirty* Rich held at Whim Nightclub in Station Square was HOT! Featured Designers were Mj Whalen & Angie Fec of Sew Addicted. Master Choreographer of Dance was Joe Nickel & special appearance from The One and Only Sasha.

How do you look professional yet dress for rain, ice, snow sleet? I went out yest in my nice dress work pants and heels with a lil tread and it was just bad. Wet pant legs & cold slippy feet. What do you do?! Wear dress pants and tuck them into wellies (think looks stupidly bad?) I have lil booties for rain & wear shorter pants? HELP! I even did a google search and did not find much. Would love your thoughts!

One thing we deal with on the East Coast is wet slushy and messy weather in these upcoming months and for those of us who have to head outdoors to commute and trench through the streets and need to find ways to keep our pants from getting those nasty spots on them and the dry cleaning bill low! Keeping our socks dry and warm is also a big must when looking for the proper footwear…So what are the results? A great rain boot with lining has been my must have for seasons now! So where and what are our most stylish options that won’t break the wallet? Check them out here…

Dav makes a great boot and flat for the ladies at a reasonable price. You can get them at local e-tailer Modcloth…Keeping it stylish and chic is the hard part so when you have a wider leg pant shoving them in the boot is begging for wrinkles and a frumpy un-professional, though-Military look. Go with the Flats if its not too bad outside, but try to keep it straight leg or skirts for the messier time of the season.

Now wearing them is the tricky part.. NO! You don't want to look frumpy or a mess! Selecting the style of boots for your personality is what your purchase decision should be based on. Show your style and have fun with them! However, shopping for straight leg and skinny pants is another style choice and pending your profession if this can work out for you. With all the fun tights and leggings right now, it may be a better option for a skirt. I hope this helps you out Janalyn! and stay warm and dry!

About Pussycat-
In 1969 Sally and Jack Lichtenstein founded The Pussycat in a tiny 500 square foot store on Forbes Avenue in Pittsburgh. The business has since grown and moved down the street to a much larger (2200 square foot) store, its still the same amazing family business it was 40 years ago.

Today, Sally's daughter Gail handles the day to day business, but Sally brings her 40 plus years of bra fitting experience into the store on a regular basis. The Pussycat has always been known for their customer service and has built a reputation as one of the top lingerie stores in The United States.

The Pussycat stocks many high-end brands, in addition to some they have found on their many trips to New York City, Paris, and beyond, that are lesser known in America, but favorites with our customers. Gail and Mrs. Moses seek out beautiful, high quality lingerie, much of which is handmade, bringing international fashion to Pittsburgh.

One of the things we at The Pussycat are most proud of is our customer loyalty. We are honored to have two or three generations of women visiting and passing on our tradition of quality lingerie. The Pussycat's reputation has grown beyond three families. Our customers range from actresses from the stage and screen to women from all across the country, who have heard about the amazing Pussycat service and would like to see for themselves. Sally and Gail are thrilled to find that their expertise is in demand on local television and magazines, notably WHIRL, and Pittsburgh's CBS affiliate, KDKA.
The Pussycat is proud of its over 40 years strong reputation for excellence, and is looking forward to the challenge of sharing that experience beyond our Pittsburgh home.

Pittsburgh's Lounge scene is stepping it up with its newist- Eclipse Lounge in LOLA part of Lawerenceville. General Manager and Pittsburgh's Infamous Mixologist-Ray Matthews heads up this swanky new lounge behind the bar-in this case you can always expect a smooth cocktail that you don't have to ask twice for or send back for mishaps...Share some memories on their FACEBOOK

The Scene...Low Key, Chill atmosphere with house music in the background and THANK YOU-its not loud. I can carry on a conversation without yelling. And I don't have to deal with any loud college crazies like in SOSI (South Side). Great drink list and my favorite-selection of Malbecs, Tempranillo's and Shiraz at great prices. Hungry? Organic snacking is encouraged...My interest was the Peanut Putter and Jelly...However, I was craving some dark chocolate and the bartender was sweet enough to help me out with some of that. Organic too! Be sure to check it out. I will be back!

"It's a Hockey Night In Pittsburgh" indeed...So with the new Consol Energy Center, it seems that Pittsburgh has really stepped it up with its sporting venues. So they saved the best venue for last I see with its swank clubs, luxury boxes and food vendors! Sushi at a Hockey Game? Thanks to Nakama for selling out before the second period starts...who would of thunk this? Not only is the venue stepped up, but so has the fashion. For the first time I was ok with seeing women in their work pumps and club heels. Not to mention this season's super Thigh High Boot...Why not look sexy for our hometown?? On my search today for a new look for the evenings game against Bruins there some great new looks from some of Pittsburgh's own retailer- Littlearth who carries the brand licensing for mainly all sports leagues-Pro-Fan-ity and can be found in numerous local stores.

PGHSS: Who/What got you started in Fashion?
NA: I started sewing at a young age. My parents owned an upholstery shop, so at the age of 7 I started learning how to sew. Later I helped out by sewing "piping" for furniture. It was an old cast iron "Singer" sewing machine with a leather belt and foot peddle. I started pretty raw. But it made me the skilled craftsman I am today! Later in high school I started making all of my own clothes that I would wear. I had a pretty crazy wardrobe and I used my school like a runway. I knew then that this was what I wanted to do for a living.

PGHSS: Who would you say is your muse?
NA: I don't really have an actual muse. I pretty much use myself as a test subject for all of my ideas. Everything I create is based on what I would want to wear. I'm pretty "self centered" in the literal sense. I design for how I live. I'm a Virgo,I would do anything for anyone when it comes to life, but in design, it's all about me.

PGHSS: Who are your focused clients that you design for?
NA: My client base has a pretty wide range. I design for anyone who likes to be a bit bold, as well as comfortable in the clothes they wear. Artists, Musicians, free thinkers and the young at heart and mind.

PGHSS: What type of collection are you designing? Bridge, Contemporary, Designer?
NA: My collections are always unisex, designer-ready to wear, with a bit of an edge.

PGHSS: Who are you looking to sell your collections to (retailer)?
NA: Any place that thinks that my collection would compliment their stores and customers. I like smaller stores who aren't afraid to show a little daring and modern edge. I sell mainly on my website now, but I have always had great success and generated a following at smaller boutiques in the past.

PGHSS: Are you making your own patterns or using standard industry patterns?
NA: Right now I am making my own patterns. The fits that I want are very specific to my actual style and aesthetic. Some of my future pieces are new concepts that I am developing, so there is no other way to develop them accept starting from scratch.

PGHSS: Different parts of the country and the world, fits are different. Which measurement system do you see is more profitable in your designs?
NA: For my designs, I sell a lot of smalls. Maybe because no one eats in New York City where I am now! ;)

PGHSS: What is your favorite fabric to work with?
NA: Secretly... I'm working with stretch leather right now, (Yes, there is such a thing,) and I love it!

PGHSS: What’s one thing people would be shocked to know about you?
NA: I don't really enjoy fashion week or fashion shows. When you want to be on the other side, showing your work to the world... it isn't really that fun to watch from the sidelines. Also, I could care less about current trends, and what other designers are doing. I set trends. I never follow. I refuse to even glance at Vogue for fear of having my thoughts and ideas compromised. At the end of the day, the product that I produce, everything that you see, is my original idea. It's a part of me, and I think that is 99% of the allure of my clothing line.

Jackie, Tito, Jermaine, Marlon and Randy Jackson — along with the estate of the late Michael Jackson — are launching their first licensed apparel line under the J5 Collection name, commemorating their decades as The Jackson 5. The men’s and women’s T-shirts and jackets will be in stores in February and incorporate imagery from their years as the so-called First Family of Music.

“I’ve been wanting to do this for a long time. I’ve seen other friends be successful with their lines, like Puffy with Sean John,” said eldest brother Jackie Jackson, who was the driving force behind the project. “I’ve been in this business for a long time and our name is known around the world.”

The Jacksons have partnered with licensee Steeve Bohbot, who owns the L.A. showroom Connected International Sales which reps 17 brands, including Jump shoes, Maui & Sons and Kid Dangerous.

T-shirts will retail for between $32 to $58 and the jackets for about $600. Bohbot worked with Rafi Weisman, the original designer of the “Thriller” and “Beat It” jackets, on the replicas. Weisman at the time worked under the Marc Laurent label, which adorned the original Michael Jackson jackets.

The J5 Collection has been picked up by retailers including Urban Outfitters, Pac Sun, Kitson Men, Revolveclothing.com and 80spurple.com. Bohbot has also signed a Japanese distributor to handle accounts in that market and on Friday launched an e-commerce site at J5collection.com. -www.wwd.com

PINK! To benefit Susan B Komen by Mall at Robinson

Mall at Robinson’s Coordinators always put on a great fashion event. From the enticing swag bags with my need at the moment, jewelry cleaner to a fabulous signature pink ribbon scarf from the Susan B Komen Foundation. Marketing Director Shema Krinsky, CMD was very excited to be part of Pittsburgh’s First Fashion Week and was delighted when asked to be in the show. The runway casted a light of Hot Pink in conjunction with Susan B Komen.

Hair and makeup by Ebony and Ivory Salon of Beaver Falls

I got to interview the Stylist for the Mall at Robinson and Fashion Coordinator Shelly Ugar right before the models hit the runway with Hooplah.TV (video coming soon) and she told me how she pulled this seasons hottest trends; Military, Glam, Lazer Cutout Pumps, Boots-Military to Heeled Gladiator to Thigh High, Hot Leggings, Tweed Jackets, Tiered Faux Fur jackets, Texture Knits, Exposed Zippers…all with hints of PINK in the look! Check the ladies of Mall at Robinson on KDKA's Trend Report, weekdays at 9am.

My only rants and fashion no-no’s are the following-

There was wayyyy to many looks going down the runway for one model at a time. I mean next year please don’t coordinate a show where 73 looks are going down ONE at a time on a 50 FOOT RUNWAY!
It was a bit drawn out and the crowd was extremely stiff.
The energy in the room was kinda drab also.
The music wasn’t loud enough at all.
The model in the short skirt…should not have been on the runway considering it was a raised runway and if you would of seen the faces of the women in the front row!!! Yikes! Big No, No…

Designer Tee Shirt Cut-and-Sew Design for Live Auction-

4 Designers were selected for a live auction benefitting the Susan B Komen Foundation. The designer challenge was to take the Foundations Shirt and redesign it. With 4 very unique designers all different you had these results…My favorite was the bikini T...very creative and jaw dropping Mr. Keith Bloom...
